Dirty-Thirty features work by Galen Gibson-Cornell and Mallory Weston. Through obsessive working tendencies these artists combine recognizable preexisting imagery, such as posters, emojis and iconic symbols into non-traditional formats. Gibson-Cornell re-contextualizes found urban advertisements by weaving them into distorted, confrontational versions of their former selves. Weston highlights socially charged words, textures and insignia in her exaggerated wearables. Gibson-Cornell and Weston make the language of everyday imagery into a grandiose and yet uncomfortable experience.
