Galen Gibson-Cornell’s Genesis is a multilayered fusion of urban histories, woven from found street posters sourced in Berlin, Hamburg, New York City, and Plovdiv. Through his intricate process of fragmenting and intertwining, Gibson-Cornell reshapes these remnants of public messaging into a dynamic composition of color, texture, and fragmented narratives. Genesis reflects the overlapping identities of these cities, capturing the transient nature of street ephemera while creating a new, unified visual language. The work invites viewers to consider the connections between place, memory, and the ever-evolving surfaces of the urban landscape.
