Galen Gibson-Cornell’s Kamen weaves together fragments of urban life from Plovdiv, New York City, and Lviv, creating a richly textured composition that reflects the layered histories of these cities. Sourced from found street posters, the piece captures remnants of color, text, and imagery, blending them into a unified yet fragmented surface. The weaving process distorts and reshapes these elements, mirroring the way public spaces evolve through time, with posters being placed, torn, and replaced.
