Galen Gibson-Cornell’s Tectonic is a dynamic exploration of fragmentation and reconstruction, crafted from found street posters sourced in New York City, Boston, and Berlin. Layered with monotype on paper, the piece merges urban remnants into a dense, shifting composition that evokes the movement of geological and social landscapes alike. Through weaving and manipulation, Gibson-Cornell creates a surface where imagery and text fracture and realign, mirroring the constant transformation of city streets. Tectonic captures the tension between permanence and erosion, reflecting the ever-changing nature of both the built environment and the histories embedded within it.
