Galen Gibson-Cornell’s Heron is a study in balance and disruption, constructed from found street posters sourced in New York City, Berlin, Hamburg, and Poznań. The composition maintains a uniform color palette throughout, creating a sense of cohesion—until the top left corner bursts into an explosion of vibrant hues, fracturing the otherwise structured form. This unexpected break in the border challenges the stability of the piece, echoing the unpredictable layering and decay of urban surfaces. Heron captures the tension between order and chaos, transformation and permanence, reflecting the dynamic, ever-changing nature of city streets.
